Gran Turismo has had an interesting approach to livery editors ever since it implemented one in Gran Turismo Sport. Whereas games like Forza trust you to make do with the internal editor tooling, GT allows for importing vector artwork to use on your liveries. This is a very neat feature and has potential to vastly increase livery detail and finish, as you can draw accurate artwork on PC using professional tools, and import them as you need them.
Learning curve
There is a bit of a learning curve associated though. Most people are not familiar with svg files as a file type in the first place, and might not realize what vector images are even though most of you have certainly used them in programs like Microsoft PowerPoint or in editor software such as the internal one in Microsoft’s Forza franchise. SVG files are essentially ”scalable vectror graphics”, which refers to how theyu consist of dots and lines in mathematical space rather than pixels as in pixel based image forms (such as png and jpg).
